Handmade in Japan Fes 2022
2022 kicked off with a Creema hosted event, called Handmade in Japan Fes. It is held in a big space with many creators, and you can find all sorts of handmade goods from jewelry, food, clothes, and kids toys. This was the first time I took my daughter with me to help me with the booth, and it was so much fun. She helped me with the shop while I was taking a break. She helped me have a much more plaisant time as I got to see what other creators made. Some of the creators came as far as Kyushu, which surprised me. Also I got to talk to other creative people who were having booths near me, which was super fun.
CHINESE NEW YEAR FASHION SHOW AT 1OAK
I had an opportunity to do a fashion show at a club called 1OAK in Roppongi during Chinese New Year. My last fashion show before this was back in 2019, and I had not been able to do it during COVID so it was really nice to be able to present my clothes in a runway fashion style again. It is always fun to work with models and makeup artists, we had a fun glitter look on the side of the face and hair, which added the festive feeling to the whole look. I presented 10 different looks.
POP UP SHOP @LATTEST
My solo pop-up shop at a Harajuku coffee shop, LATTEST took place a week after the fashion show. I was a bit tired by this time with all the prepping! I collaborated with Sea Cow Bakery again (we did an event together back in February 2021) for the closing reception, it was fun to meet with new people and reconnected with old friends!
SPRING POP UP SHOP
I did a week-long pop up with a group of handmade creators at the end of Ferbruary in Shibuya. The organizer and I met at the Handmade Japan Fes event, and I am thankful for the connection we made. She is a very inspiring eighty three year old, who is active, fashionable and energetic. She showed me the photo she took at Shibuya station (below). I’d love to be as active and fashionable as she when I will be at her age!
