For the past 9 months, since Kiko was born, I never felt the need for a break. Andy has helped me take care of Kiko a lot and for that reason I haven’t felt as though I needed to get out and be by myself.
But recently, I’ve started to go out by myself ocassionally after putting Kiko to bed and it has been really really nice. It’s not like I do anything major when I’m out. First time I went out, I window shopped, drank high ball in a train ( I’m a rebel!) and ate gyudon (cooked beef on top of rice). The day before yesterday I went to a diner and read “Hunger Game”. I was only out about 2 hours but it was s great refresher. I was back home, happy and eager to see my family.
The best part is that this little excursion is guilt free. I get going after putting the baby to bed. How do you take a break?

that is great! sorry ive been not commenting! your baby series are so interesting, but i often read them pn my kindle when breastfeeding, with no good way of typing! when do you put kiko to bed? kaylee is starting to finally sleep around 9:30-10:30. but even if i put her to bed at 7, the malls would be mostly closed!

Hi Jue! I remember my breastfeeding days when iPhone was my best friend! I was better at checking everyone’s tweets and blogs much better than now:p
I put Kiko to bed at 7 every night. Usually malls and stores are open till 9, sometimes till 10 in Japan. One advantage of living here I guess:)

It’s great that you take a break from time to time, I think everyone needs it because then you can return more relaxed and ready to truly devote your time to your baby.

Brigita, yes, I felt so refreshed for being out reading for an hour alone! It was such a treat:)
