Week 30 of motherhood here. Kiko is still on the same eating schedule of baby food and formula, but she is now showing preferences. She eats a mush of vegetables (carrots, potato, tofu etc) first and then have some milk. This week I found there are Anpanman (Japanese catoon character) biscuits for 7 month old and up, and decided to pick them up. She prefers the biscuits to veggie mush but we primarily stick to veggie mush and tofu plus one biscuit after finishing the mush. It’s so fun to see her grab a biscuit and enjoy eating it on her own though! I’m tempted to give her more, but resisted the urge:p
Back home, there is a picture of my sister when she turned one year old. My parents gave her a strawberry short cake for her birthday for the first time in her life, and the picture of her biting down the cake with whipped cream all over her face and hands is priceless! I want to do that for Kiko’s 1 year old birthday…
Kiko is now able to actively choose her toy of preference so we put all of them on a shelf and let her use the walker to roll over to the shelf and choose her toy for herself. She plays primarily with a grey silicon cup (which was a gift from my sister to Andy, but Kiko took it), coke pet bottles and plastic bags. So strange she chooses these over cute stuffed animals! What was your childhood favorite toy? I think mine was Jenny doll (like a barbie doll). Unfortunately Jenny became bald after my failed attempt to give her a hair cut…

my favorite toy when i was a child is paper dolls..i love to design clothes of my paper dolls and stick it to my paper dolls body… of course the paper dolls are out of carton cigarettes or shoe box. it was really a wonderful toy for me… creativity and designing at an early age. very economical too. do u play paper dolls when your a little girl too chie? i’d love to share this to my little girl someday.

I love paper dolls! I think it is great idea, and the creativity it involves is amazing. I think that kind of toys are much better than TV and video games…

i LOVEE babies with rosy cheeks like kiko! btw do you often put kiko in the walker? because there’s a case like my cousin, she likes to let her daughter play in the walker and its slowing down her development on walking. fyi she’s over one y/o already. not that its wrong, just dont use it too often (:
Chie says
Hello! I think Kiko spends 1-2 hours per day in a walker. She loves it, but I also try to give her enough tummy time, so she will learn to crawl 🙂

Seven and a half months already?
Kiko is so graceful, and the hair is already growing!
It’s good she has a routine schedule for herself!
About my daughter never used a walker, was walking home only by leaning on chairs, sofas, wall …
She had a place that was like a cradle screen but could not translate into English the name we give it in Portuguese.
They said it is abunai baby use a walker, and she never used a pacifier!

My favorite toy did not have one, but several …
My childhood home was not played in the street …
I had a yard with orchard, much land was a large field of dreams!
